Berlin, DE. (Feb 15, 2016) - Berlin, DE In what was a year filled with awards and accolades, Boston Whaler received another notable honor in November as the 270 Dauntless took home a BOB (Best of Boats) Award in the category “Best of Fishing.” “We are grateful to see the 270 Dauntless recognized by this esteemed organization,” said Boston Whaler President Huw Bower. “The 270 Dauntless embodies the spirit of versatility, confidence and capability that defines the Dauntless family.” The BOB Awards were chosen by a jury of more than 15 journalists from 14 countries including Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Italy, Spain and Russia, and were awarded during a ceremony held in Berlin. Judge Julijan Vinjevec, publisher and chief editor of the Slovenian boat magazine Val Navtica, explained the decision: “The Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless combines the traditional characteristics of a fishing boat with comfort and style at a level that has previously not been experienced.”
Versatility is a hallmark of the center console 270 Dauntless. Comfort begins in the bow, where port and starboard seats feature innovative flip-up backrests and storage beneath. A sprawling forward lounge also houses a generous, lockable storage compartment. For entertaining or offshore fishing, the cockpit includes a well-equipped leaning post with rod holders, a cooler, and purpose-driven options including a large livewell or 3-drawer storage, plus an optional integrated hardtop.
The cockpit also features an optional swim patio, and standard convertible aft seating that hides away to provide extra casting space. Whaler’s unique Unibond hull, combined with powerful Mercury® Verado outboards, delivers a remarkably soft, safe, dry ride even in rough conditions and during hardcore fishing outings.
In fact, the 270 Dauntless is the fishing boat of choice for celebrity TV angler Henry Waszczuk, who uses the Whaler to catch incredible game fish on his show, Fishing the Flats.
Boston Whaler’s Area Sales, Marketing and Customer Service Manager for Northern Europe, Katie Hansen, was present at the Berlin ceremony to accept the award. “We are so happy to be here,” Hansen said. “Coming from the U.S., we are particularly pleased that our boat has achieved success in Europe too.”
